The grip the show takes with the opening piece in raag Bairagi is beautifully sustained until the Sufi finale, not lost by an iota along the way. I was particularly touched to see how her friends abandon the voyage one by one, leaving her alone for her journey. So very symbolic! Salute to everything – the theme, the way the dancers become one with the story, Anita Kulkarni’s storyboarding, presentation and her soulful voice; and of course, Daksha ji’s choreography! ..

Daksha-ji’s dancer crew was brilliant, and her choreography was par excellence. By the end of the show, we both picked up a liking for Odissi style! We liked your backdrop paintings, especially the one with dry brushing vertical strokes in Prussian blue and the Viridian green leaves standing out on the dark background. Your paintings were lightly touched and rustic in character, befitting the ambience of the story. Kale Guru-ji’s composition in raag Durga with the fusions you have made, stood out. The last dance in white costumes was indeed haunting and swept the audience off the floor in a perfect finale. Your singing was very good, and I saw that most of the known audience was in an awe of your talent abundance. Anita, heartiest congratulations to you, Daksha-ji and the talented team!”
